Happy Monday! Not sure about you, but with summer here, kids out of school, the roller coaster of a market, running a business… I have gotten away from some of my morning rituals. These actions set my mind right for the day and ensure I have a more focused and productive day and week ahead. So, I’m renewing my commitment today! One of which is the 5-Minute Journal. If it helps, here’s a reminder of how I start my day right in 5 minutes each morning:
- I am grateful for… (write 3 things – I try to mix it up with something personal, business/team, and something more ‘global’ or 30,000 feet up looking down. This helps me regain perspective.)
- What would make today great? (write 3 things – I think of the appointments I have that day already – looking DOWN and IN; my health/physical goals beyond work – exercise, even if a little; and anything proactive I should do towards my greater goals – looking UP and OUT.)
- Daily affirmations. I am… (write down 2 affirmations – I used to struggle with this, but it’s gotten much easier with practice. YOU are doing so much good, and have so much to give… even if it doesn’t feel like it every day.)
Sometimes I feel as if I barely have ‘5 minutes’ to do this. Other times, I realize I should spend 30+ minutes mapping out an amazing day/week. Key is just doing it… make it happen.
